The Manchester chiropractic patients have expectations of their care. Those are important to share!

WHAT DO YOU EXPECT? It matters!

Chiropractic patients have pretty clear expectations of their chiropractic spinal care provider – a thorough exam, a distinct diagnosis of the source of pain, precise information and guidance on how to cope with it, and pain relief – one who listens intently, verifies the reality of their pain, and involves them in the treatment plan. (1) Sound familiar? We bet it does! Our Manchester chiropractic patients want the same from our treatment at Manchester Chiropractic & Sports Injuries! Athletes and “geri-active” patients mix it up a little. ATHLETES: Athletes presumed musculoskeletal assessment and treatment at and beyond the site of injury, improvement of symptoms, good communication, and expertise from their chiropractor in addition to reassurance, advantageous impact on their athletic performance, and injury prevention input. (2) "GERI-ACTIVEs": Older back pain sufferers want a lot of the same, too: know the healthcare system to guide them through it as necessary (important!), communicate clearly, develop an interpersonal relationship, have a passion for patient care (as well as comforting patience with the patient!), and have clinical and diagnostic skill. They also expressed the importance of interdisciplinary collaboration and their preference for hands-on treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. (3) Manchester chiropractic patients want their chiropractors to be healthcare team players, clear communicators of realistic expectations, skilled hands-on musculoskeletal treatment providers, and terrific listeners! Your Manchester chiropractor is all that…and then some!

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Nate McKee on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson as he meets patient expectations by clearly explaining the issue – spinal stenosis and balance – and its treatment plan via the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management which includes patient education, spinal manipulation, nutrition, and exercise.

Manchester Chiropractic & Sports Injuries presents support for core stabilization exercises at any age in the management and prevention of back pain.

Manchester CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH: Core Stabilization Exercise

Exercise isn’t just for the athlete! Back pain sufferers gain from core stabilization to reduce chronic low back pain. A study of fighter pilots showed significantly less chronic low back pain and less incidence of neck pain following core stabilization exercise. (4) Older folks benefit, too, as those who experience with low back pain often deal with poor postural control which leads to poor balance and a greater risk of falls. Core stability training in older women improved many outcome scores for them: VAS visual analog scale of pain level, Oswestry disability, timed-up-and-go test, 10-minute walking, and four-square step test. (5) Athlete or not, young or not so young, exercise works! Manchester Chiropractic & Sports Injuries is prepared to talk with you about what would work for you.
