Manchester chiropractic spinal manipulation care is relieving and cost effective.

SPINAL MANIPULATION IS EFFECTIVE AND COST REDUCING FOR SPINE CARE

Manchester Chiropractic & Sports Injuries welcomes all spine pain patients! Spine pain is unwelcome by its sufferers. Manchester chiropractic spinal manipulation helps. Though low back pain is a major source of disability globally, its sufferers who experience persistent or recurrent bouts of low back pain find chiropractic maintenance care effective as it is patient-centered care. (1) Neck pain sufferers, too, report benefit with chiropractic. Neck pain patients who undergo spinal manipulation – 90% of which is delivered by chiropractors in the US – were found to be 2.38 times less likely to need higher level and more expensive care like imaging, injection, emergency room or surgery (just 26%) than patients who were treated with other type of care (46%). (2) A recent study of Medicare patient claims reports that patients who had reduced access to chiropractic care had an uptick in visits (32.3 a year) to primary care physicians for spine pain and an increase in spine surgeries (5.5 a year) costing an extra $114,967 per 1000 Medicare beneficiaries and $391 million nationally. (3) Your Manchester chiropractor is well-qualified in delivering spinal manipulation.  Spinal manipulation is and has been recommended as first-line treatment for low back pain. Medicare claims’ reviews note that chiropractors are the majority of healthcare providers for spinal manipulation and that the general supply of spinal manipulation providers is falling. (4) Do not worry! Your hometown, Manchester chiropractor has no intention of not providing pain-relieving spinal manipulation, especially the gentle, research-backed Cox® Technic style of spinal manipulation.

Listen to this PODCAST with Dr. Kurt Olding on The Back Doctors Podcast with Dr. Michael Johnson as he presents research on the place of spinal manipulation in the Cox® Technic System of Spinal Pain Management for the relief of spinal stenosis, a common spine pain condition in the over-65 age group.

Manchester Chiropractic & Sports Injuries shares new research on the benefit of adequate B vitamin levels.

Manchester CHIROPRACTIC TIP OF THE MONTH:

Beneficial B Vitamins

B vitamins are beneficial. B12 deficiency is often associated with dementia in patients over 65 years of age. It has also been found in young people who have normal B12 levels but their methylmalonic acid (MMA) level is high. Testing the MMA level may be a useful test in patients with symptoms that seem unconnected as in one patient with neuropathy, depression and stomach issues who tested a high level of MMA. (5) Biotin (B7) supplementation is demonstrating potential in the treatment of neuropathic pain and could lessen the required doses of analgesic drugs. (6) Riboflavin (B2) in foods and via supplements is renowned for its antioxidant, anti-cancer, and anti-inflammatory effects among others. A recent study reported that B2 offers anti-itch properties. (7) How are your B levels? We’ll talk at your next visit!
